The New York Rangers are dealing with question marks over Ryan Lindgren and Artemi Panarin, and now a top reporter has given major updates on both.

This season could be make or break for the core group of the New York Rangers, as they have been on the cusp of the Stanley Cup Finals for three seasons now, meaning every single game will be critical for the team in 2024/25. The last thing they then need is injuries, but heading into the regular season, both forward Artemi Panarin and defenseman Ryan Lindgren have been dealing with lingering injury issues.
Now, reporter Peter Baugh has given an update on both key players, revealing that Lindgren is out for 'at least a few weeks', while Panarin is considered day-to-day, and is almost a guarantee to return to the Rangers lineup before the regular season opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Given that neither injury is considered serious, this is great news, but with the timeline of a few weeks for Lindgren, he is in danger of missing the opener against Pittsburgh. With Lindgren expected to be on the top pairing once more alongside Adam Fox, any games missed will be critical for New York this season as they look to finally put it all together and go on a Stanley Cup run, but with good depth, the team are confident they can cover a few games missed.
With many question marks over the Rangers roster, the last thing they need is to miss Panarin for an extended time, so while he's likely to be back soon, the team need to monitor his situation closely, as they have both Will Cuylle and Jimmy Vesey on the left wing, showing that the depth can't afford to be tested too much. Right now, everything appears to be positive in New York, but if things spiral with injuries, this season could get tough, so keep a close eye on both of these players as the regular season nears.
