Former NHL second-round draft pick, Gabriel Gagne, has been sentenced to six months in prison after being found guilty of relentlessly harassing and threatening his ex-girlfriend over a three-year period.
Gagne, 26 years old, was selected 36th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2015 NHL draft. In May, he pleaded guilty to charges of harassment and making death threats, leading to his recent prison sentence. Notably, he was acquitted of sexual assault, and one assault charge was dropped.
This is not the first legal trouble Gagne has faced. He has been accused of sexual assault in both Montmagny and Trois-Rivières, Quebec, with one of the alleged victims being a minor at the time.
