A six-month sentence was handed down to Gabriel Gagne for harassment.

Gagne Sentenced to Jail

Former NHL second-round draft pick, Gabriel Gagne, has been sentenced to six months in prison after being found guilty of relentlessly harassing and threatening his ex-girlfriend over a three-year period.
Gagne, 26 years old, was selected 36th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2015 NHL draft. In May, he pleaded guilty to charges of harassment and making death threats, leading to his recent prison sentence. Notably, he was acquitted of sexual assault, and one assault charge was dropped.
Based on court documents, Gagne bombarded his ex-girlfriend with continuous calls and text messages. The content of the messages ranged from professing love to expressing hatred.
This is not the first legal trouble Gagne has faced. He has been accused of sexual assault in both Montmagny and Trois-Rivières, Quebec, with one of the alleged victims being a minor at the time.

Gagne's Failed NHL Career

Gagne certainly had the talent and an NHL frame towering at 6'5" yet he was never able to put it together to break out at the NHL level.
Things were looking up for Gagne's career in 2020 but he was forced away from hockey after his first accuser came to light.
Gagne has had his rights owned by the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators.
