After failing to make much of a splash following his trade to the Rangers a year ago, Kane hit the free agent market this summer, and despite the injury issues he's dealt with, he remains a very hot commodity.
While he's been linked to seemingly every contender in the league, Kane could now reportedly end up in Toronto, as Larry Brooks of the NY Post has revealed that is now his preferred destination.
Over his illustrious career, Kane helped lead the Chicago Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups, and while he may not be the player he once was, that leadership and experience would be invaluable for the Maple Leafs.
This is a team that's made it out of the first round just once since 2004, and now, after beating Tampa Bay a season ago and adding to their roster, they will look to make a run to the Finals in 2023-24, and adding Kane may be a great help in doing just that.
