Popular Analyst Predicts Mitch Marner's next contract

An analyst has outlined what it might take for Mitch Marner's next contract extension, as he's set to become a free agent in 2025.

This summer will be interesting for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Marner, with trade rumors swirling around him.
Whether he remains a Maple Leaf heading into training camp or not, it's widely expected that he won't be with the team by July 1, 2025. Some analysts are predicting his contract.

What if the people that love Mitch Marner, love Marner as a player at the salary he is making right now or less than that and not at the salary he is likely going to command in free agency which is somewhere between $11.5 and $13.25 because that's the Toronto salary that he's put himself in.

Could you see a scenario where a team trades for Marner and gives him an 8x$13M deal a year. Sam Reinhart's not even going to get that this season.

"I think the Leafs are going to make a play and basically back him into a corner over the next three weeks, saying, 'Mitch, it's been great, but we're moving on. So whether it's now or eight months from now, your time's up.'"
