After the Toronto Maple Leafs dropped another game 7, all eyes are on Sheldon Keefe and whether or not he will be behind the bench for the Leafs next year. After his comments post-game, that is looking like it is more of a question than ever.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been plagued in the post-season for decades. Despite minor success last season getting out of the first round, they showed that the team is still looking for true success after failing to win another game 7 against the Boston Bruins.
A lot of the blame is being placed all over the stars and the core, however, much of the fanbase and media are calling for the firing of head coach Sheldon Keefe. After his comments during the post-game press conference, that call is getting louder.
When teams play the Leafs, they set up the game for the Leafs to beat themselves.
Fans quickly pointed out that Keefe is the one whose job it is to stop that from happening since he is the head coach, furthering the reason why he should not return as the Leafs head coach next year.
Ummm.... What the HELL Sheldon
What kind of a garbage quote is that
Sheldon Keefe did commend his players for their effort during the season, noting that it took a valiant effort to bring the Leafs back to a game 7 situation being down 3-1 in the series.
Obviously, the series is very close. It is the thinnest of margins you can getGame 7 overtime. It is very disappointing not to come out on the right side of it. I loved how our team fought to put us in this position to compete, play in this game, and have a chance to be one shot away.
Clearly, Keefe is on the hot seat this offseason, and it remains to be seen if he will be terminated before the season begins.
