Vincent Desharnais shocked Edmonton Oilers fans when he chose to sign with the rival Vancouver Canucks this summer and he's nervous about hie return back.

Vincent Desharnais was recently on the Jason Gregor show and spoke about his time with the Oilers and how happy he was to see that people still supported him after he chose to sign with the Vancouver Canucks this off-season.
It was a tough decision for me but seeing how happy everyone was, for me, it was really nice... It made me feel a little bit better about it

The Oilers selected Vincent Desharnais back in 2016 during the 7th round of the draft. He didn't make his debut with the team until the 2022-23 season and played almost every game with them last season. Desharnais is very tall at 6'7" before even putting any skates on, and said he recently saw his former teammate Connor McDavid at his recent wedding, and said the reunion with him was bittersweet. Desharnais said he really missed the players and would really miss the Oilers fans too.
It's going to be weird playing against the boys next season... seeing all the boys it was so cool to see how happy they were for me, how excited they were, but it was also very sad, it was kind of the last times that we would spend together and not hit each other and try to slash each other.

The Canucks liked what they saw so much from Vincent Desharnais during his time with the Oilers that they ended up signing him this summer to a two-year deal with $4 million. The Oilers thought about whether they would match it, but ultimately chose to part ways, as they have a lot of work to do to sign some of their other key players.
Vincent Desharnais played in 78 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season, scoring one goal and adding 10 assists. He also added one assist in his 16 playoff games with the team.
