The Vegas Golden Knights have had an eventful NHL trade deadline, adding big names such as Noah Hanifin, Anthony Mantha and longtime San Jose Shark, Tomas Hertl. While it seems like fair game, people across the league are wondering where the Knights got that money? Suspicious activity has come from Vegas' part by placing high capped players on LTIR. GM Kelly McCrimmon addresses the speculation.

McCrimmon calls it "ridiculous" to think their injuries aren't serious

It seemed like Vegas' GM found it disrespectful for those to think the injuries such as Alec Martinez and Mark Stone are not serious.
"Last year ... we acquired Ivan Barbashev, Jonathan Quick, and Teddy Blueger (at the deadline)," McCrimmon said. "I would suggest to you we probably could have acquired all three players without Mark Stone's LTIR. This year, it happened that there were opportunities available to use that space, so that's what we did.

"The flip side is to have $9.5 million of LTIR space as a general manager and sit on your hands, and I don't think that's doing our job the way that we should."

McCrimmon mentions how they are just playing along with the rules and benefitting from the NHL's rulebook.
"LTIR is collectively bargained between the Players' Association and the NHL," he said. "The idea behind it is, if you have a player suffer a significant injury, you can replace that player. Obviously from there, it's the timing of injuries."
Fans have grown suspicion as it has been the third year in a row that Vegas' captain Mark Stone has been placed on LTIR weeks before the trade deadline.

Obviously, Kelly McCrimmon insists that the injury is serious.

Curious to know if the NHL will be switching up the famous LTIR rule after all the drama it has stirred.
