RUMOR: Washington Shopping Six Time 20-Goal Scorer
The Washington Capitals have been a very successful franchise since the arrival of Alex Ovechkin, and in order to maintain that level, they've needed a strong veteran core around him.
Consistent greatness
One of those players that are often overlooked in the story of the Capitals is TJ Oshie, who has maintained a fantastic level of play around Ovechkin for a number of years.
Unfortunately for the Capitals, his health has been a major concern in the past few years, so if they aren't looking like competing in 2023-24, it's becoming more and more likely that he will be moved.
A trade incoming?
According to a recent report, there is a belief around the league that Oshie will draw interest from contenders around the league at the trade deadline, and with the future in mind, it's highly likely that Washington will look to explore that possiiblity.
In 960 career games, Oshie has tallied 290 goals and 670 points, including six seasons of 20 goals or more, and if they can get a solid return for him, it could kick start a major rebuild for the time that Ovechkin finally walks away.
