The Washington Capitals went down in round one to the New York Rangers, and now we are learning about some of the injuries they played through.

After every team is eliminated in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we often get the revelation of brutal injuries, but it's going to be tough what TJ Oshie went through this season. After the Capitals were swept by the New York Rangers, the veteran forward revealed that he played through a broken hand in this series, although that injury was nothing compared to he went through all season long.
A broken hand is like a hangnail compared to what I go through (with back injuries). I'm usually on the floor peeing into water bottles. My hand just got squished a little there in the boards. No big deal.

Despite the back injury, Oshie managed to play in 52 games during the regular season, with the play continuing in the playoffs where he averaged 18 minutes of ice time per game. The injury however has put a question mark over Oshie's future, as he revealed in an interview that he will step away from the game to have his injuries looked at, with no guarantee that he'll play in 2024-25.
«It's hard for me to ever for sure say that I'm stepping away. I'd love to play next year, but I'll need to come back with somewhat of a guarantee that my back won't be it's hard putting everyone through the situation»
The 37-year old clearly has a desire to continue playing, but won't do so until his back is fully healed, so this will be an interesting story to keep an eye on for Capitals fans this summer.
