Just a few minutes ago, the Winnipeg Jets made an important announcement.

Historic Signing by Jets' ECHL Affiliate

In a major move, Mariah Fujimagari, a talented female goalie, has signed an Emergency Backup Goalie contract with the Norfolk Admirals, the ECHL affiliate team of the Jets.
"Note: In uniform as the emergency backup goaltender for @NorfolkAdmirals in tonight's game at @RailersHC is Mariah Fujimagari. After attending training camp w/ @KalamazooWings, this'll be her first time on the bench for a regular-season ECHL game."
It's important to mention that as an Ebug, she might not even be on the ice tonight. She will only be eligible to play if the starting goalie sustains an injury or receives a game misconduct penalty.
Fujimagari already has experience in the ECHL, as she attended the training camp of the Kalamazoo Wings, the ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, on a tryout contract last summer.
More to come.
