BREAKING: Winnipeg Jets Set To Announce Major Franchise Move
The Winnipeg Jets are set to announce a major franchise move in the coming days.
Jets New Affiliate
Per a report from Inside The Rink, a source that primarily covers the NHL and the ECHL, the Winnipeg Jets are set to announce a new ECHL affiliation with the Norfolk Admirals.
Norfolk is a city in Virginia and while a ways away from Manitoba, it will now feed the Manitoba Moose and potentially even the Winnipeg Jets if need be.
it's anticipated that the Jets and their AHL affiliate Manitoba Moose are on the verge of formalizing a new affiliation with an ECHL team by September 4th. This ECHL team very likely will be none other than the Norfolk Admirals.
Norfolk was the Carolina Hurricanes' ECHL affiliate last year but after the Hurricanes' deal with the Chicago Wolves expired, their deal with the Admirals also expired.
We are now waiting for an official announcement but it will likely come in the next two weeks.
