Connor Hellebuyck has been at the center of trade rumours all summer long, and after years in net for the Winnipeg Jets, it appears we could be coming closer to a deal.
A stellar Jets career
In 445 games over eight seasons for the Winnipeg Jets, Hellebuyck has established himself as one of the best goaltenders in the NHL, putting together a 238-154-37 record with a .916 save percentage and a 2.66 GAA.
Unfortunately, the Jets don't appear to be contenders anytime soon, and with his contract coming up next summer, it makes sense for both parties to make a trade happen now or at the trade deadline.
Perfect landing spot
The 30-year old veteran has been linked to many teams this summer, but NHL analyst Mike Rupp believes he's found the perfect landing spot for him, and that's the New Jersey Devils.
With the additions of Timo Meier and Tyler Toffoli in recent times, along with their deep young core, adding an elite goaltender could make them a favourite in the Eastern Conference, and after taking a big step forward last year, there's no doubting that this one could help them take the final, massive leap towards Stanley Cup success.
