Connor Hellebuyck has been shining for the Jets this season after it was speculated he wouldn't even return this year and now has been recognized by the NHL for his recent performances.

Hellebuyck Given Third Star of the Week For Recent Performances

Connor Hellebuyck is one of the main reasons that the Winnipeg Jets are on a historic run right now, shooting up to first place in their division. For his efforts, Hellebuyck has been named the NHL's third star of the week, his second week in a row being named to the honour.
Connor Hellebuyck won three of the @NHLJets' four consecutive victories last week (1.68 GAA, .937 SV%), extending his point streak to 12 (10-0-2) and helping Winnipeg (26-9-4) climb into first place in the NHL standings.
The Jets are looking good as they head into the stretch before the All-Star break, and that comes on the back of Hellebuyck. It is crazy to think that there was potential for him to be traded this offseason, and instead, he was signed for just $8.5 million, which is pretty cheap given his recent performances.

Hellebuyck In the Conversation for the Vezina This Season

It is still early, but the conversation about who will win the Vezina Trophy has begun to spring up. Hellebuyck is in nearly all of those conversations and is clearly one of the frontrunners as it currently stands. If he is able to help the Jets to a successful post-season, he will have a stacked resume for the trophy.
We will see if the Jets can continue their incredible hot streak as they take on the Blue Jackets tonight at home.
