The Montreal Canadiens almost brought PLD home

In a recent article, journalist Alexandre Gascon explored the ongoing trade saga involving Pierre-Luc Dubois and the Montreal Canadiens. Dubois, a player long rumored to be joining the Canadiens since his 2016 draft, has been at the center of trade discussions.
Pierre-Luc Dubois has consistently shown a keen interest in joining the Montreal Canadiens, a desire that traces back to his early days in the NHL. Growing up in Quebec, Dubois harbored a childhood dream of playing for the Canadiens, a team steeped in rich hockey history and cultural significance in the region.

Insider Leaks Major Trade Details

Initially, the Winnipeg Jets showed interest in acquiring Kirby Dach from the Canadiens in exchange for Dubois. However, Canadiens' GM Kent Hughes was not in favor of this trade.
Subsequently, the Jets proposed altering the deal by substituting Dach with Kaiden Guhle, but again, Hughes declined. This stance by Hughes is seen as justified by many, including the author of the article, who believes that trading Guhle for Dubois would be too high a price, despite Dubois' potential fit with the Canadiens.
The two key negotiations - first Dubois for Dach and then Dubois for Guhle - were both ultimately rejected by Hughes.
Would you have made this trade if you were Kent Hughes?
