One of the Winnipeg Jets' top goaltending prospects has signed a contract with a surprising team.

Milic Signs In Manitoba

In the 5th round of the 2023 draft, the Winnipeg Jets took goaltender Thomas Milic. At the time of his selection, Milic was a double over-ager which means he was passed on in two separate drafts.
Milic is one of the most stable goaltenders and has quite the award cabinet having two gold medals representing Canada, being WHL playoff MVP, CHL first-team all-star, and a WHL goaltender of the year.
It was announced that Milic signed an entry-level contract, but not with the Jets.
The #MBMoose have signed goaltender Thomas Milic to a one-year contract.

Milic posted a 27-3-1 record alongside a 2.08 GAA and a .928 save percentage for the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds during the 22-23 season.

Manitoba is the Jets' AHL affiliate but it is a bit confusing as to why it was not the Jets who signed Milic. It is now up to Milic to prove himself as the Jets' future in net. If he impresses with the Moose this year, he could earn his first NHL contract next year.
