Bowness Had No Issue with Dubois and Wanted him to Re-Sign
Pierre-Luc Dubois has had a tough few years, bouncing around teams after asking to be traded, all before he turned 25. That has left fans thinking he was a problem on the team, and that no one wanted to play with him.
Rick Bowness, however, tells a different story. He recently discussed how he did everything he could to try and re-sign Dubois.
"I had no problem with Dubie. I talked to him an awful lot. I was trying to convince him to stay, but that wasn't going to happen no matter what. He made it no secret he wasn't going to sign a long-term deal here."
Dubois Had to Do What Was Right for Him
In a recent article, Dubois also opened up about his decision to get out of Winnipeg. Ultimately, he said he had to do what was best for him, and that he only gets one career in the NHL.
