The Winnipeg Jets currently sit at 22-9-4 after a red-hot start to their 2023-24 campaign, and now, it appears they're looking to go all-in at the trade deadline.
After re-signing two of their longest tenured stars this past summer, the Jets may be in win-now mode in the wide open Western Conference, and it's safe to say that Konecny would help them in a big way.
It certainly wouldn't be cheap for the Jets, as they would need to part with a first-round pick, several prospects and even an NHL ready player, but it may just be the move they need to become big time contenders.
This season, Konecny has led the Flyers in scoring with 31 points in 36 games thus far, and with his connections to Canada and his likely unwillingness to commit to Philly long-term, the move makes plenty of sense for both parties.
Things can change in a hurry, as the Jets are in a tough division with Dallas, Colorado, Nashville, Arizona and Minnesota, all looking for playoff berths this season, but if the Jets can add more star power to this forward group, this team could be a dark horse to go all the way in 2023-24.
