The Winnipeg Jets are off to a solid start this season, with a 4-4-2 record having them looking like a playoff team, but if they are to make any noise in the Western Conference, they'll need to make a splash move.
Eyeing off a star centre
While the team were once considered sellers this summer, they have since locked in Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck, and now, they appear to be buyers as the season gets into full swing.
Now, it has been revealed that the team could be looking at a major upgrade down the centre, with Elias Lindholm of the Calgary Flames a major target for this team.
Depth down the middle
While it was Cole Perfetti that was expected to take the No. 2 centre role when Pierre-Luc Dubois was traded, he, along with Gabe Vilardi have performed much better on the wing, and if they can land Lindholm and leave Adam Lowry as 3C on this team, it would give them major depth.
Through 10 games this season, Lindholm has tallied 2 goals and 8 points, and while he's not yet achieved major success without Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk, he put up a solid 22 goals and 64 points a season ago, so this is a move that makes great sense for Winnipeg.
