Last year the Jets flew into the playoffs with great year and 110 points to show for it, but now, there is a question on whether they can duplicate that effort.

With some off-season changes the Jets do not look like the same team that brought them into the playoffs. Many people are looking at this year's Jets and doubting their ability to make the post-season at all.
The doubt that is circling around the Jets has Elliotte Friedman even second guessing himself. Friedman was pretty confident in the Jets ability to make the playoffs again this season. But based on this post from X, we can see that social media and talks from other analysts could be swaying him.
The truth of the matter is, that Friedman might still be right. In a recent analysis done, the Winnipeg Jets still have a 75% chance of making the playoffs. And what it looks like is that the key is going to be related to Connor Hellebuyck and his play this year.

Putting all of your playoffs hopes on one player is a very big ask. And if Hellebuyck is not the same goalie that won 37 games last year the outcome for the Jets could be different. With his 2.39 GAA and .920 SV% last season he helped the Jets propel into the post-season. With Hellebuyck stepping away from hockey for the time being, the changes are looking less likely for the Jets if that time away is for a longer period of time.
In the end, there still seems to be a chance that the Jets are going to make the post-season - probably with not as many points as last season. The Jets also still have a lot of forwards with skill, so scoring should not be a big issue for the team if they can play to their capabilities. With Nikolaj Elers and Cole Perfetti rounding up would could be their best line.
In the end, we will see if the Jets are going to be able to put together a season that gets them into the playoffs again. If Hellebuyck plays well, there should be some games for Jets fans to watch after the 2024-25 seasons ends.
