Insider David Pagnotta has shared the latest on Winnipeg Jets forward Cole Perfetti and it looks like it is up to Kevin Cheveldayoff to decide what to do with him.
Since being drafted 10th overall in 2020 Cole Perfetti has slowly adapted to the NHL game. After playing in his third season this past year, Perfetti posted a career-high in goals and points with 19 goals and 38 points. Despite these career highs, Perfetti had a career-low in time-on-ice average with only 13:35 a game, nearly a minute and a half less than his sophomore year.
With Perfetti being only 22 and still having so much potential, other NHL teams have reportedly been calling on the Jets youngster.
I've mentioned Cole Perfetti a couple of times lately, and his name continues to pop up in discussions with various people across the NHL. Teams are curious as to Winnipeg's plans for him and will inquire about his availability after his minimal usage in the playoffs. He can become an RFA in July.
It is now up to GM Kevin Cheveldayoff to make a decision on Perfetti and if he feels that Perfetti cannot succeed under new head coach Scott Arniel, then a move looks to be the most likely outcome.
