The Winnipeg Jets continue to chug ahead to the start of the regular season and they have just cut a further four players, sending them all down to the AHL.

On Thursday, the Winnipeg Jets made their third round of cuts during training camp, sending seven players to their AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose. Of those, four needed to clear waivers: D Simon Lundmark and Fs Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Mason Shaw, and Dominic Toninato. These moves are just continuous in the way of molding the final roster for this season.
Of the ones placed on waivers, 2019 second-round pick Simon Lundmark was probably the most likely to get claimed onto another roster. He had a pretty good training camp and is often thought to be similar to the type of player that Dylan DeMelo is. He isn't the flashiest and doesn't bring a lot of flair to the table, which could be one of the reasons he got through waivers. For those who have watched him play, though, there is potential to be a decent right-shot D-man in the future which would make him a more valuable asset moving forward with the Jets.
Elliotte Friedman from Sportsnet confirmed the other four players requiring waivers cleared, which means the Jets can assign them to the AHL with no issues. This keeps the team in control of all these players and gives them more time to develop within the organization.
These four, combined with goaltender Thomas Milic and defensemen Tyrel Bauer and Dmitry Kuzmin, who also got reassigned on Thursday, will add considerable depth to the Manitoba Moose. Adding this much talent will go a long way in solidifying the Moose for the upcoming season. With such a stellar cast of youngsters in their fold, Manitoba is well-placed for a competitive season in the AHL this year.
These latest Jets cuts show the bottom line of tough decisions teams must make in camp while serving as a boost for the Moose. With the sending down of players having NHL potential, Winnipeg ensures their development while keeping depth in the organization for possible call-ups.
