The Winnipeg Jets have had a quiet summer thus far, but now they've inked an intriguing young defenseman to an extension.

This off-season has been full of intrigue for the Winnipeg Jets, and while they're yet to significantly upgrade their roster, they have now made a solid move to bring back a talented young defenseman. After another solid campaign in the 2023/24 season with the AHL's Manitoba Moose, 6-foot-2 defenseman Simon Lundmark has now inked an extension for one-year at $775k.
Congrats Simon!

The @NHLJets have re-signed Simon Lundmark to a one-year extension.
Lundmark was a second-round pick of the Jets back in the 2019 NHL Draft, and has spent the last three seasons with the Moose, tallying years of 14, 17 and 17 points, and is expected to push hard for a Jets roster spot in 2024/25. Lundmark's game is built on solid defense, and while he's only flashed a little offensive potential, with the Jets needing depth on the blue line, this may be his opportunity to make the jump to the NHL and be a significant contributor in Winnipeg.
