The Winnipeg Jets are in the middle of game 4 of their first round series against the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Down 2-1 in the series game 4 was always going to be crucial to keep the series within reach. After going down 4-1 after 2 periods the Jets have pulled goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
Most of this season the Winnipeg Jets have been put in great situations to win games thanks to the play of Connor Hellebuyck. However, today after a rough outing he has been pulled in favor of Laurent Brossoit.
Despite doing his best to keep his team in the game the play in front of Connor Hellebuyck from the Winnipeg Jets just has not been good enough. He has faced an onslaught of shots and very little offensive help.
This is an epic mismatch unfolding before our eyes.
#NHLJets PK is 60% in this series. And people wanna blame Connor Hellebuyck...
Jets getting doubled up on shots and are on pace to allow at least 40 again.
The Jets have managed to stop the onslaught of the Avalanche offense a bit but do still trail 4-1 in the third. It looks as though the Jets will be backing themselves into a corner needing to win 3 games in a row to keep their season alive into round 2.
