A wild scene broke out in the final seconds of the Lightning Predators game after Auston Watson's dirty play caused a brawl.

Watson Takes Dirty Slapshot At Lauzon In Final Seconds of Blowout Game

There is not much justifying a direct slap shot to the leg of your opponent in the final seconds of a 5-1 blowout game, but that didn't stop Austin Watson from doing so last night against the Predators. In the dying seconds, Watson unloaded a slapshot at the leg of Jeremy Lauzon, dropping him instantly and causing a line brawl to break out.
Austin Watson drilled Jeremy Lauzon with a slap shot at the very end of tonight's game.

Not sure what he was thinking. Brutal.
Watson was assessed two misconducts in the final seconds of the game. Luckily for the Predators, Lauzon was able to get off the ice under his own power.

Watson Caused Trouble the Entire Third Period

This wasn't the first time in the game that Watson was stirring it up with his former Predators team. About 10 minutes prior to the slapshot incident, Watson dropped the gloves with Cole Smith.

Maybe this was what had Watson's blood boiling late into the game. Either way, the slapshot was a dirty move that really has no place in hockey, as its only intent is to injure.
We await to see if any supplemental discipline will occur as a result of the play.
