This former first-overall draft pick just had his first career NHL fight, and it went about as well as you might expect.
Slafkovsky Drops Gloves in First NHL Fight
Juraj Slafkovsky was the former first-overall draft pick in the 2022 NHL entry draft, after he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens. Last night, he showed that he could play physical during the Canadiens-Sabres game, which was scrappy at nearly every turn.
During the game, Slafkovsky let his frustration out by dropping the gloves with Connor Clifton in his first-ever NHL fight. While he didn't do well, there are plenty of props to give for his willingness to fight.

Slafkovsky clearly never finds his footing in the fight, as he isn't used to the balance needed to land punches, however, his strength did prevent Clifton from landing too many blows.
Slafkovsky Ends Game in Shootout in All Around Performance
Slafkovsky got the last laugh in the game, as he was able to end the game with the shootout winner. Overall, it was a well-rounded performance for the former first-overall pick, showing his development into a player who is willing to do it all.
