An aggressive incident recently marred a youth hockey game, where things escalated beyond control.

A video showing the shocking incident surfaced on social media, where a player was seen being kicked in the head with a skate during a chaotic skirmish.

The Disturbing Incident

Player #27 is caught in the act, ruthlessly kicking a downed player. The violent act doesn't stop there; the player then proceeds to relentlessly punch the downed individual.

Hockey Deserves Better

This video clip in no way represents the spirit of hockey. The players may only be 12 years old, but by playing hockey, they're also representing it and hockey is more than just an excuse to beat someone up. Behavior of this sort has no place in the game and demands immediate intervention. Those involved need to learn the repercussions of their actions.
While it is easy to simply blame the children, we must also place some blame on all involved at the end of the day, including the refs who didn't do much to prevent this from happening. It's a collective call to action for everyone involved in the sport to act respectfully and properly represent hockey as a whole.
