The Boston Bruins took on the Montreal Canadiens yesterday and Jack Edwards made sure to provide his commentary on the game, complaining about the officials as usual.

Edwards has become a household name around the NHL for his years of incredible calls for the Boston Bruins. Last season, Edwards called it a career after 45 seasons of color commentary for the team. This had a mixed reaction around the league as many fans celebrated his retirement while others found the news to be rather sad. This was not unexpected considering his controversial reputation. That being said, he has found a new way of sharing his thoughts on games with us as he took to Reddit to complain about one call in particular last night.
The Bruins were facing off against the Canadiens at home when defenseman Hampus Lindholm appeared to score. Unfortunately though, Montreal challenged the goal for goaltender interference and the play was overturned.
Naturally, Bruins fans were not happy with the call. Some however, were surprised to see his post about the play on Reddit. Notably, it has been confirmed that this is the real Jack Edwards who made this post.
It seems though that Bruins fans are having fun with this for the most part. Granted, it is easier to have fun considering the fact that this call did not have an impact on the outcome of the game. If it had, Edwards and the rest of the fanbase likely would have been ticked off a bit more and it would be hard to argue with them.
After all, goaltender interference has become a major problem for the NHL as the rule is not consistently enforced from play to play. At times, it appears as though the standard is much higher than others, and Lindholm's goal certainly appeared to be on the low-interference end of the spectrum. Considering the fact that the call on the ice was a good goal, it makes this call in particular even more confusing. Hopefully this will not become a major storyline for the league again, but if we are being honest, with ourselves, most fans are expecting more questionable goalie interference calls this season.
