Two former Winnipeg Ice prospects will be involved in blockbuster trades in the coming days.

Savoie And Geekie Involved In Blockbuster Trades

Insider Jeff Marek dropped some major CHL news on the 32 Thoughts podcast by revealing that four different top prospects will be getting moved in the near future.
WHL related but Jeff says it sounds like Wenatchee will be trading Conor Geekie to Swift Current & Matt Savoie to Moose Jaw. Nate Danielson (to a US based team?) & Owen Beck (to the Soo?) both likely on the move too.
Conor Geekie and Matt Savoie, currently of the Wenatchee Wild, were both members of the final Winnipeg Ice team before getting relocated last offseason. The two were both top draft picks in 2022 with Savoie going 9th overall to Buffalo and Geekie going 11th overall to Arizona.
The two are both performing quite well in Wenatchee with Geekie having 20 goals and 49 points through 26 games and Savoie having 11 goals and 24 points through 11 games. The pair will now be separated with Geekie to Swift Current and Savoie to Moose Jaw.
Additionally, Nate Danielson (2023 9th overall pick to Detroit) will be moved to a U.S.-based WHL team and Owen Beck (2022 33rd overall pick to Montreal) will be going somewhere else.
The four are all currently representing Team Canada at the World Junior Championship and are looking to bring home a gold medal.
