Connor McDavid's new linemate is poised for a career year and he has commented on what it is like to play for Edmonton and what he is looking forward to.
Brown's Comments
This past offseason, the Edmonton Oilers signed Connor Brown to a one-year contract and it is looking as if he will slot in on McDavid's wing on the first line.
Brown recently spoke on what it is like to come to Edmonton.
"It was a lot of hard work digging myself out of that hole, so I'm that much more grateful not only to be playing again but to be able to play with this group,"
The hole Brown is referring to is the injury that sidelined him for all but four games last season.
"I feel up to speed and I feel ready to go. There was obviously a lot of adversity this year. I learned a lot. It was a lot of hard work digging myself out of that hole, so I'm that much more grateful not only to be playing again but to be able to play with this group."
What Can We Expect From Brown
Brown is a player with an immense amount of upside in Edmonton's system. It seems like you can plug any player in alongside Connor McDavid and he will produce and while this is true, there is a level of speed the player must adjust to and a style of game they must play.
Brown has both of those things and was a teammate of McDavid's at the junior level for the Erie Otters. Brown has also scored 20+ goals twice previously in his career so he has considerable offensive upside.
As long as he plays the style of game he plays and is healthy, we could be looking at a 30+ goal/point-per-game season for Connor Brown.
