Gabriel Gagne was once a promising prospect for two Canadian teams, but now, he's been sentenced to jail for some very heinous actions regarding an ex-girlfriend.
The hockey world is unfortunately littered with players that have shady backgrounds and have committed some dreadful crimes, and now another has been prosecuted, with news coming to light about former second-round draft pick Gabriel Gagne. Unfortunately, the story involving Gagne is a very scary one, as he has been charged with harassing an ex-girlfriend, with the 26-year old taking it to some very scary levels.
In the update from Puck Empire on the situation, it was revealed that Gagne told his former partner he had hired someone to k*ll her, along with several other terrifying threats. Last year, Gagne was sentenced to six months in prison after harassing another former partner, and with this latest incident, it's safe to say that he won't be playing hockey in North America in a professional setting again, and will be lucky to escape a lengthy stint in jail.
The result of the current trial is still pending, but with all of the evidence being brought to light, it's not a good look for Gagne, who was once a promising prospect in the NHL before his dark personality clearly took over. We hope that the women involved in this situation can find plenty of safety and support, as the details of the situation are incredibly scary.
