Leafs Look To Aquire Desharnais in Trade Talks
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been rumoured to be interested in acquiring Oilers defenseman Vincent Desharnais. The Leafs are in somewhat of a desperate spot as they lost another defenseman to injury. Now, they are looking to add to their blueline.
And this article did come out before Treliving and the Leafs moved Sam Lafferty to the canucks. They did hold trade discussions with the Edmonton Oilers about Desharnais. The 27-year-old right-hander shot defenseman is six foot six and plays with an edge. Two things Treliving absolutely loves So far, in four appearances this season, Desharnais hasn't recorded a point and has seen some significant time killing penalties.
The Leafs have shown interest in Desharnais before and were willing to give up Lafferty for him and some other additions.
We all are upset at the Oilers bottom six. What makes it more frustrating is that the Leafs were giving Sam Lafferty to Edmonton for a pick and Desharnais. The Oilers rejected the trade because they think 27-year-old Vinny Desharnais still has some untapped potential. What a joke

Desharnais could be a good trade piece for the Oilers, as the Leafs are in somewhat of a desperate spot to add to their blueline. Desharnais has yet to record a point this season and only played 35 games with the Oilers last year. While he does kill penalties, the Oilers may be able to get some better long-term assets out of a trade as the Leafs look to address an imminent issue.
