As the team still tried to pull off the impossible in this year's Stanley Cup Finals, the Edmonton Oilers are now one of the three NHL teams targeting Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk.

Jake DeBrusk has had an impressive career as a forward for the Boston Bruins over the last seven years. After 465 games in the league so far, the 27-year-old player has posted 138 goals and 128 assists for 266 total points. In the playoffs this year, he scored 5 goals and 6 assists in 13 games, including two against Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who has been nothing short of a wall in the Stanley Cup Finals this season.

Now, the player has once again made his desire to leave Boston known, looking to test free agency this year. According to sources around the NHL news site The Win Column, Jake DeBrusk is connected to at least three teams for a possible trade deal, including the Edmonton Oilers.
"A source tells The Win Column that there is mutual interest between DeBrusk and the Flames. That's not to say there will be a deal consummated on July 1, but it is certainly a possibility. DeBrusk also has mutual interest with the Edmonton Oilers and a third team, which I believe to be the Carolina Hurricanes."
While the Calgary Flames and Carolina Hurricanes have ample cap space for DeBrusk, they already have a solid winger setup, making the choice unusual at best. Alternatively, the Oilers have very little room to work with, but have an obvious spot for the player and fans who are waiting for him to play for his hometown of Edmonton.
The Edmonton Oilers are playing the Florida Panthers tonight for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. With any fans expecting them to seal their fate before the end of the day, the Canadian team may have enough data to look at to determine how to sign Jake DeBrusk. Regardless, it could be another two weeks before any trades are made.
