The Habs are also getting a 2nd round pick from the Blue Jackets in 2026, and in return Montreal is sending Jordan Harris to Columbus. Harris is a 24-year-old defenseman who played in 56 games for the Habs last season, having scored three goals and 14 points.
Patrik Laine only played in 18 games for the Blue Jackets last season, and managed to score just six goals and had nine points. He had a horrible plus/minus rating of -10. In his career, the Finnish forward has played in 480 games, and scored 204 goals with a total of 388 points. He isn't the greatest defensive forward in the game, as his career plus/minus numbers sit at a very low -58.
Patrik Laine was in the NHLPA's Player Assistance program last season as he dealt with some personal issues and struggled mentally, so here's hoping that this change of scenery will do him some good.
