Police in France have arrested Australian Olympic field hockey player Tom Craig for allegations that he bought c*caine from a dr*g dealer in Paris.

Tom Craig is a 28-year-old midfielder who recently played for Team Australia on Sunday in the team's quarter-final game, in which they lost to the Netherlands at the Paris Olympics.
A source from the Paris police department announced that Craig was arrested on Wednesday just after midnight, after what they refer to as a c*caine transaction that took place next to an apartment building. The unnamed source said that Craig was caught with about one gram of c*caine in his possession.
The one selling the dr*g to Craig was a minor, said to be only 17-years-old, which makes this case even worse. The dr*g dealer was apparently carrying multiple types of dr*gs, such as 75 e*stasy pills and several different types of synthetic dr*gs. He was also arrested.
The embarrassing part of all this is that Craig actually tried to run away from the police when he got caught. They ultimately caught up to him and ended up arresting him. What a shameful act by this supposed professional athlete.
The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) released a statement the following day saying that Craig was in fact released from police custody, and only received a warning for this. It's safe to say he got off pretty easily, all things considered.
"He has apologised, shown remorse, he has owned up to his mistake, and we will support him if he needs help," said chef de mission Anna Meares.

"As a result, Tom will lose all his remaining Olympic privileges. He had already moved out of the Olympic Village, and I understand he was not intending to return for the Closing Ceremony. If he were, he would not be able to attend."

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) refused to comment on this arrest, however it has been confirmed that Tom will not be allowed to return to the Games for any reason this year after this incident.
