After being sidelined for the Boston Bruins' game against the LA Kings on Saturday due to tardiness at a team meeting, DeBrusk openly acknowledged his mistake.
"We have a high standard on this team. I broke a team rule. I understand that there's consequences with that and I own up to it completely. I let the guys down. I wanted to join them in LA yesterday and having to watch really sucked.
DeBrusk emphasized his desire to contribute to his team's success.
"I felt it. I just wanted to do anything I could to help the team out today in any way...I'm proud to be a Bruin. I don't have a rebuttal on it and that's all I'll say on it. We're moving forward as a group."
DeBrusk's Future in Boston Unclear
Speculations are rife about the relationship between the Bruins and DeBrusk. It's noteworthy that DeBrusk had publicly asked a trade from Boston in 2021. Yet, he changed his mind and signed a contract extension with the team in 2022, which ends this year.
