The Boston Bruins have been one of the hottest teams this season, currently standing at 3rd in the league overall. However, the path to the Stanley Cup is not being met without obstacles and controversies, as one unruly member is now being floated as a trade.

Bruins Remove Forbort From Lineup After Locker Room Stunt

While Boston has been trying to clean up their game ahead of the playoffs, one team member decided to opt out of attending a team meeting. This is of course 31-year-old defenseman Derek Forbort, who instead of being filled in afterwards, was removed from the lineup ahead of the following game.
"Derek Forbort will not play. Missed a team meeting."

Bruins Fans Hopeful For Forbort Trade

Though he has already missed a game for this irresponsible action, the news may be getting worse for Forbort. In addition to being removed from the lineup, he is now in talks to be traded to another team.
"Given his recent play and now this, I wouldn't be surprised to see Forbort on a new team by the March 8, 3 p.m. ET NHL Trade Deadline."
Although Boston could use some solid defense, many fans do not think he can provide this and are elated with the news that he may be on his way out.
While most fans appear to be happy that this trade could happen, others are skeptical that the Bruins will be able to get anyone else. Forbort is an expensive veteran player who is only getting older and not improving in the slightest. Adding this to the fact that he does not seem to be a team player also adds a layer of trouble for his removal from the team.
While we still await the final decision on Forbort's future with Boston, it will certainly be interesting to watch what may become of the Bruins as the March 8th trade deadline approaches.
