In November 2019, Bill Peters, who was then the head coach of the Calgary Flames, found himself in hot water following serious allegations against him.

Akim Aliu, a former NHL player, accused Peters of using racially offensive language during their time together in the minors. Following this, another player also accused Peters of physical misconduct involving him and a teammate.
Now, four years after the controversy, there are reports that Peters is attempting to make a comeback in professional hockey.

Peters Attempts a Comeback

A source has connected him to a potential position with the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Greg Wyshynski shared the following:
"Sounds like ex-Flames coach Bill Peters could resurface as head coach of WHL Lethbridge Hurricanes, as @gdrinnan first reported. Might happen as soon as Wed.

Peters resigned in 2019 after Akim Aliu said the coach directed racial epithets toward him in the minors.

It's been 13 years since the incident happened and four years since Aliu brought Peters' actions to the public's attention.

It's my understanding that Peters only sought an audience with Aliu last week through a third party, apparently in anticipation of this job opportunity."
Do you think he'll make it back to the NHL?
