Some tough news for the Colorado Avalanche. Head coach Jared Bednar has told reporters that one of his defencemen has taken an indefinite leave of absence from the team.
Avalanche Down a Defenceman for Indefinite Period
Bednar told reporters before tonight's game against the Vancouver Canucks that Samuel Girard would not be playing.
"Girard will not play tonight, per Bednar on his @AltitudeSR show. He's currently away from the team for personal reasons."
Samuel Girard Out of Avs Lineup for Indefinite Period
Girard has taken part in 15 games for Colorado this season, scoring 1 goals and 4 points. He has consistently been in the 20 minute range for ice time in every game. The 25-year-old has been with the Avalanche since 2017.
