A recent training video hints at a quicker recovery for the Avalanche prospect

Tough news coming out of Colorado Avalanche camp as forward Ondre Pavel, sustained an arm injury at the Rookie Faceoff.
While he's out for now, it sounds like it's not too serious, so there's still hope for his season. However, a recent video of him training surfaced and he couldn't even grip his stick properly.
Pavel, 24, has only seen action in two NHL games so far. He made his debut against the New Jersey Devils last November but didn't manage to get on the scoreboard. Still, he's in a prime position to compete for a bottom-six spot when he gets the green light to return for preseason games.
It's encouraging that he's familiar with the Colorado Eagles and the Avalanche system, which should give him a solid edge. Remember, he was the captain of the Fargo Force in the USHL before heading to Minnesota State university. He even represented Czechia at the 2020 World Juniors, so he's got a good pedigree.
We all know the Avs would love to see a young prospect step up and fill that fourth-line role rather than chase a veteran on the market. Pavel's game is aggressive, and he's got decent defensive skills, making him a valuable asset if he can get back on the ice.
At 6'2" and 205 pounds, he has the size to be a real force in the bottom six, helping the Avs win those battles in the corners. All he needs is that chance to show what he can do. Let's hope this injury doesn't keep him sidelined for too long!
