Erik Brannstrom goes down at Colorado Avalanche

Erik Brannstrom had a pretty rough moment at Colorado Avalanche practice today after a hard collision with Miles Wood sent him crashing into the boards.

Right after the hit, Brannstrom tried to get back on his feet but couldn't stay up and went down again. The medical staff rushed over, and though he needed some help, he managed to skate off under his own power, which was a relief to see. Still, a pretty scary moment.
After that, Brannstrom left the ice with the trainers and headed to the locker room. And you could tell some of his teammates weren't too happy about it, especially de Haan, who gave Wood a couple of shoves after the hit. Tensions are definitely running high.
The Avalanche are known for taking on reclamation projects, and they're hoping Erik Brannstrom is their next success story. Standing at 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, Brannstrom was signed by Colorado after spending five years with the Ottawa Senators, who ultimately decided to move on from him. Now, he's got a fresh start and a chance to prove himself with the Avs.
