Red Wings winger David Perron will be regretting his decisions over the next couple of weeks as the NHL Department of Player Safety has handed him a hefty suspension.
Perron Suspended Six Games For Cross-Check
The veteran winger was suspended for six games after he was given a match penalty for intent to injure in his last game. Perron went for a violent cross-check to the head of Senators defenseman Artem Zub after he noticed his Captain, Dylan Larkin, motionless on the ice.
This is quite the hefty suspension, but one that is arguably well deserved. The NHL has seen several violent sticks to the head in recent weeks with this one taking the cake as by far the most egregious. Luckily the officials and the league seem to be on the same page with this one as Perron will now be out for a decent amount of time and rightfully so.
