Earlier today the Edmonton Oilers announced that they had relieved Jay Woodcroft of his duties as head coach.
Edmonton is making a coaching change. Jay Woodcroft being relieved of his duties. Thought last nights win would buy some time, but that's not the case.
The Oilers quickly moved along and named their new head coach. He was shockingly stolen from another team.
Hearing Kris Knoblauch is incoming as next #Oilers coach.

Knoblauch was the head coach of the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack which is the affiliate of the New York Rangers. Knoblauch also has a major tie-in to Oilers superstar Connor McDavid. Knoblauch was McDavid's coach in Erie of the OHL.
Hearing the new EDM coach will be Kris Knoblauch from AHL Hartford. He coached Connor McDavid at OHL Erie
The Oilers have also announced that Senior Advisor Paul Coffey will assume assistant coach responsibilities and be behind the bench. This comes after the firing of Dave Mason with Jay Woodcroft.
Senior advisor Paul Coffey is also stepping behind the bench as assistant coach, according to the Oilers.

Dave Manson was fired along with Jay Woodcroft.
The Oilers are surrounding Connor McDavid with several friendly faces that he has worked with in the past. Let's see if the changes can lead to a massive turnaround in the Oilers season.
