While Campbell's numbers in the AHL this season are technically better than his NHL numbers, they are not better by much. After he was pulled in his last start last night, his future is now even more uncertain as he can't seem to catch a break.
Campbell now has a 4-5 record in the AHL this season along with a 3.61 goals-against-average and an .888 save percentage. Those numbers would not be acceptable in the NHL, let alone the AHL. Meanwhile the Condors do have another goalie on the roster who is actually playing well.
Ollie is not a prospect that has gotten much hype but the former 2nd round pick is looking like a better option than Campbell right now. The Oilers likely won't call him up as he is just 23-years-old, which is quite young for a goaltender to make his NHL debut. However, he should be the starting goaltender for the Condors but jack Campbell is currently taking that spot. As a result the Oilers may be forced to move Campbell, if not to another NHL club, than to another club in their organization. If they want to win, they won't be calling him up to the NHL anytime soon.
