The Oilers have now seemed to realize this as well, as they've made the smart front office decision to hire McDavid's long-time agent as the CEO of Hockey Operations.
Whether it's a good move or not, it's clear this was made with his free agency decision in mind, and with this, if the team can take steps forward on the ice, it's clear they're in with a good chance of keeping him around.
