The Edmonton Oilers have a lot of expensive contracts on their roster. Connor McDavid, obviously, with his $12.5M, Leon Draisaitl, who's at a cap-friendly $8.5M for two more years, Darnell Nurse, at a whopping $9.25M, Mattias Ekholm at $6.5M, and Jack Campbell at $5M.

Not all of those are that much expensive, but it could be arguable that some players are way overpaid, especially Darnell Nurse and Jack Campbell.
Ken Holland, the Oilers' GM, recently missed out on a great opportunity because of that.

Oilers Missed out on an Important Free Agent

A player like Vladimir Tarasenko would've been extremely useful to the Oilers. It would have created a lot of depth in their lineup.
However, as you probably know, he signed with the Ottawa Senators.
It was reported that the Oilers' bad contracts have prevented them from getting him.
Let's be frank, Nurse's and Campbell's contracts are too expensive for the performances they offer. This kind of management truly hurts the Oilers in the long run.
Do you think Nurse is overpaid?
