Connor Brown has been a healthy scratch lately and head coach Kris Knoblauch has offered some insight into why he is doing so.

Brown's Horrible Season

The Edmonton Oilers brought in forward Connor Brown last offseason and have been regretting the decision thus far. Through 24 games with the Oilers, Brown has registered only one assist and is a minus 10 on the year.
He has yet to find his stride and after missing almost the entirety of last season, Brown has now gone well over a year without scoring a goal in the NHL.
Lately, he has been getting healthy scratched by the Oilers and head coach Kris Knoblauch has now offered some insight into the true reason why he has been out.

Knoblauch Explains Why Brown Has Been Scratched

Insider Frank Seravalli asked the Oilers head coach on why he decided to scratch Brown and Knoblauch shared why he felt Brown needed to be scratched.
"Brown is a tremendous hockey player. He's been doing a lot of good things, and usually when a player gets pulled out, it means he hasn't been playing well, he hasn't been doing anything right, but that's just not the case. There's been a lot of positive things with him, it's been hard, him coming back from his injury from last year, and him having a little setback with his different injury [this season], he's been playing much better. With the length of the season [the healthy scratch] is just a reset for him." - Kris Knoblauch

With the Holiday Break ending today, hopefully, Brown is able to find his stride after the reset and look to become a true middle-six forward for the Oilers. If not, the Oilers may have to send him to the minors to find his game.
