Two Center Options to Fix the Oilers Depth

The Oilers still have a need for a 4th line center to help fill out the team and hopefully have a bottom-six that is able to help the Oilers find success in the playoffs.

There are two players the Oilers could look to add to the roster via trade that would be a near perfect for the team.

The first player that would fit the needs is Washington Capitals center Nic Dowd.

Dowd has played nine seasons in the NHL collecting 127 points in 436 games with the Washington Capitals, Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks.

At 33-years old the right shot center would be able to give the Oilers a fourth line center that can get 10-15 goals and near the 30 point mark.

He currently has 2 years left at a $1.3 million annual salary.

The other center on the list is a younger player in Jake Evans, the Montreal Canadiens center is coming off a season where he was limited to 54 games and tallied 19 points in that span.

The 27-year-old center has collected 13 goals in the year previous but due to injury was unable to repeat that success last season.

Evans is has the same sort of contract as Dowd with 2 years left at $1.7 million salary.

Now whether Montreal or Washington are willing to trade either one of these depth players is unknown but both of these players would be solid options to play the 4th line center role in Edmonton.
