As we approach the NHL All-Star Break, some teams have gotten an early start to their vacations. Among them are the Edmonton Oilers, who have a whole week off.
McDavid started the year off relatively cold, but he has since returned to form. While he is unlikely to set any career records, he still has a more-than-respectable 20 goals and 67 points in 43 games this season with the Oilers.
He's helped lead the team from 7th place in the Pacific division to 3rd. Furthermore, the team has at least four games in hand on each of the teams ahead of them, giving them a very real chance to continue to climb the standings. The team very well could be poised to win the division which would be remarkable considering how their first 15 games of the year went.
