Corey Perry was recently interviewed by the Missin Curfew podcast, and he provided shocking reasons as to why he left the Anaheim Ducks after 14 seasons.

It was during a dinner call back in 2019 with his agents in Toronto that Corey Perry was informed the Anaheim Ducks were buying out the last two years of his eight-year contract. His agents had wanted to be face-to-face with him to break the news to him, but by then he had already seen it on social media. This is because his knee surgery would sooner or later render him less effective.
That's what Corey Perry says allowed him the privilege of prolonging his career after the buyout, having since played for the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, and now the Edmonton Oilers.
While most of Corey Perry's career has lots of accomplishments, it isn't without controversy. Most recently, he found himself wrapped up in a s**ual assault scandal with the Blackhawks' phenom Connor Bedard's mother, with the rumors flying everywhere. Those rumors proved to be very short-lived, though, when it came to light that indeed his contract was voided because of inappropriate behaviors during a team function.
Despite everything, Corey Perry's career numbers remain very respectable. He has 429 goals, 476 assists, and 1,426 penalty minutes in 1,311 games for a grand total of 905 points. He also has the 2007 Stanley Cup championship with the Ducks and two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada in 2010 and 2014.
Now 39, Corey Perry would appear destined to finish his career with the Oilers after returning to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, and he definitely seems revved up for another runaround in the NHL.
