Without much opportunity to rest between games, the Edmonton Oilers are facing what is possibly the hardest road to playoffs for any team in the league this season.

The NHL regular season is set to end Thursday, April 18, with the first round of playoffs set to take place Saturday, just two days later. Now, with less than a month to go, the Edmonton Oilers have the busiest game schedule ahead of the date of any team in the league.
"Oilers play 5 games in the final 7 days of the season.

Even before that they have a crazy busy schedule.

Probably only going to get 2 day break before the playoffs start...Don't want to jinx anything but this is setting up perfectly."

With the team's impending lack of rest, many fans have grown concerned that the Oilers may not be able to perform as well in the playoffs.

After a rough start to the season, Edmonton has had a huge comeback. The team has reached scoring milestones and Connor McDavid is very close to garnering the most assists in a single season in the last 30 years. However, this team's dominating personnel may not be enough to get a real shot at the cup. Fans have grown concerned that this compressed schedule will rob the team of a needed recuperation period, both between regular games and ahead of the first round of playoffs.
The Oilers have already faced trouble this season, between a shaky beginning, issues between teammates, and likely being the last team penalized before a new NHL rule. Hopefully they can get enough of a chance for rst to perform well ahead of the playoffs, or at least are able to produce with team rotations.
